DySP among 7 cops injured

SRINAGAR, Nov 16: At least seven police men including a Deputy Superintendent of Police were injured today after the vehicle they were travelling in turned turtle in Keran sector of Kupwara district.
Police said that DySP Bodh Raj of IR-4th Battalion along with six other cops were travelling in a Sumo, which turned turtle in the area falling along Line of Control.
Raj was airlifted to 92 Base Hospital, Badamibagh Cantonment, for advanced treatment. His condition is stated to be critical.
Six other cops who sustained injuries have been identified as SgCt Majid Hussain (597/IRP-4th), SgCt. Irshad Ahmad, a telecom operator (2863/PW), Constable Sanjay (406/IRP-4th), constable Ramesh (789/IRP-4th) and Constable Khursheed Ahmad (1173/KP).
The DySP along his team were on way to Keran from Machil for Panchayat election duty in the area, which will commence from tomorrow.
