Dynasty politics promoted by NC, PDP leadership: Vakil

Excelsior Correspondent

SOPORE, Dec 5:   Former minister and  president `Jammu Kashmir Bachao Tehreek’ Abdul Gani Vakil today said that dynasty politics propagated and promoted by National Conference and PDP is the mother of all ills including unprecedented delay in resolution of Kashmir issue, erosion of State autonomy and political exploitation on `Self Rule and Autonomy’ slogan.
Addressing one day convention of his newly launched organisation at Sopore today Vakil  dared Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to break her silence on her party’s demand for “Self Rule” and “demilitarization” and asked her to stop political exploitation of people by talking about Confidence Building Measures (CBM’s).
Asking Mehbooba Mufti that how she can get her party’s demand for “Self Rule” conceded when her party has failed to get even a single power project from the Centre, Vakil regretted that Mehbooba Mufti could not get even pellet guns banned by the Central Government run by BJP at the Centre.
Launching a scathing attack on National Conference president and former Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah, Vakil asked Abdullah to explain why he is crying over autonomy this time when National Conference is out of power and why he does not talk about late Sheikh Abdullah’s statement in the Assembly in which he said “Article 370 is not sacrosanct, and it can be scrapped”. Vakil asked Farooq to recall and recount the role of his father in the Land Grants Bill. Vakil alleged that National Conference is the architect of Public Safety Act (PSA) under which even innocents are jailed for years together without trial.
Reacting on the appointment of Mehbooba Mufi as PDP president,  Vakil said it was better for PDP to appoint Mehbooba Mufti as party president for life time and same should have been done by NC as well as it has been seen all along that there is no chance to any leader outside Abdullah’s and Mufti’s family to take over as president of their parties even if he is capable and embodiment of sacrifice.
Ex-MLC Rafiq Shah and Rizwan Illahi  also spoke on the occasion.
