JAMMU, Jan 10: Stressing the importance of exchange of creative arts through common platforms for artists, Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh, today said J&K’s rich art forms need to be promoted and popularized among the budding artists.
He was speaking during his visit to an art exhibition organized by Jammu and Kashmir Centre for Creative Arts in collaboration with Kala Kendra Jammu.
Dr Singh said art is the bouquet of various cultures, traditions and emotions which symbolizes the identity of a particular region and cements bonds of love, compassion and oneness among all segments of the society.
“It is a learning process and such exhibitions not only provide an opportunity to the artists to exhibit their talent but also serve as a visual treat to the art lovers,” he said.
Appreciating the artists, Dr Singh said the paintings depict the talent and the insight of the artists about the nature which has been beautifully chiseled on the pieces of paper. He wished them great success in the field and expressed the hope that they will achieve new heights of creativeness in the world of art.
Dr Singh said the participants coming from various places are interacting with each other that will help immensely in exchange of creative and productive ideas.
He appreciated the organizers for holding this event as, according to him, such programmes encourage the budding artists to further move ahead and bring more colors and value to their creations. “It provides an opportunity to people of different cultures and traditions share their experiences besides developing a sense of respect for each other’s customs”, he asserted
Deputy Chief Minister stressed upon the youth to actively participate in such events so that their unique talent and skills are further developed and polished.
MLC Zaffar Iqbal Manhas, Sectary Cultural academy Aziz Hajini, Director, Jammu and Kashmir Centre for Creative Arts OP Sharma and other dignitaries besides participants were present on the occasion.
