DyCM inaugurates receiving stations at Bishnah, Rangoor Camp

JAMMU, Mar 31: Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh  inaugurated  receiving stations at Rangoor Camp and Bishnah today .
The receiving station Rangoor Camp has been upgraded from 6.3 MVA to 10 MVA with an estimated cost of Rs 62 lakh while as receiving station Bishnah has been upgraded from 12.6 MVA to 16.3 MVA at an estimated cost of Rs 62 lakh.
Minister for Industries and Commerce, Chander Parkash Ganga, MLA Bishnah Kamal Arora, MLC Ramesh Arora, DC Samba Rajinder Singh Tara, SSP Samba Anil Magotra, Chief  Engineers, Executive Engineers and other senior officers of the concerned departments were present on the occasion.
Listing the initiatives under the power sector,  the Deputy Chief Minister said that   with the launch of “Saubhagya (Pradhan Mantri Sahaj Bijli Har Ghar Yojana)  augmentation and strengthening of generation, transmission and distribution network  shall be taken up to achieve self-sufficiency with a view to ensure 24×7 power supply to the consumers.
He said that the Centre has approved funds to the tune  of Rs 616.59 crore under DDUGJY for strengthening the distribution system in rural areas  of the state.
Referring to providing electricity to un-electrified villages of the State, the Deputy Chief Minister said that electrification of 102 un-electrified villages of the State is included in the DDUGJY and RGGVY-II schemes, of which 78 un-electrified villages are included in DDUGJY and remaining 24 are included in RGGVY-II.
He added that electrification of 22 villages has been achieved till January, 2018 and 26 villages will be electrified by April 2018. Remaining 54 villages will be electrified through off grid mode by June  he added.
Minister for Industries and Commerce in his address said that the  receiving stations would effectively augment the power supply in   several villages of the area. He said that a large population of the area including  that of Vijaypur, Koulpur, Bandral and its adjoining areas will be benefited by the up-gradation of receiving stations.
