JAMMU, Jan 17:  Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Kumar Singh today flagged off the ‘Bharat Darshan’ tour of children at Frontier HQrs BSF, Paloura Camp Jammu.
The tour would be of 12 days,  during which children will get an opportunity to visit monuments in Delhi, Benguluru, Kolkata, Agra, Fatehpur Sikri and Amritsar. In the course of tour,  they will get exposure of travelling by Air, Rajdhani and  Shatabdi Express and Metro train. They would be meeting with either Governors or  the Chief Ministers of West Bengal and Karnataka. In Delhi, they will interact with the Union Home Minister  Rajnath Singh and DG BSF.  On 26 January 2017, they will witness ‘Republic Day Parade’ at the Rajpath.  The children are being fully equipped in all respect by the BSF.  Dr Nirmal Kumar Singh,  while addressing the children,  said that those selected for the tour,  out of thousands of children in the State of J & K,  were really very lucky one. “At this early age,  it is a great opportunity for these children to know about the rich heritage, culture, people and understanding unity in diversity of our great nation. The twentieth century was of United States of America but twenty first century belongs to Asia and especially to India,” he said and added that  taking the vision 2020 for India,  given by the late President Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, the Prime Minister  Narendra Modi has decided to make India a fully developed nation by 2020. He also gave these children Rs 21,000 as  pocket money for the tour.
The BSF Frontier Jammu has been organizing tour called ‘Bharat Darshan’ for the children of Jammu region for the two decades. The aim of organizing the tour is to expose the students  to the rich heritage, culture and grandeur of the  nation. These tours have garnered huge popularity among the masses of remote border areas of Jammu region and children eagerly await every year for this opportunity.   Total 40 children, 20 boys and 20 girls, in the age group of 12 to 17 years, of humble background,  are selected from remote areas.
