JAMMU, Feb 6: Commiss-ioner Secretary to Government, Department of Forest, Ecology and Environment Manoj Kumar Dwivedi today inaugurated Forest office Complex Samba, which has been constructed by the Forest Department at a cost of around Rs 57 lakhs.
Principal Chief Conservator of Forests Suresh Chugh, Director Social Forestery Jammu Neelu Gera, Chief Conservator of Forests, Jammu Sameer Bharti, Conservator of Forests, East Circle Jammu B. Mohan Dass, Deputy Commissioner Samba Sushma Chauhan, Col. Nandu Kumar of 129 Inf. Bn TA, Divisional Forest Officer Samba Abinav Ramyotra and other officers of the Forest Department were present on the occasion.
It was informed that Samba Forest Division was created in the year 2016 and Divisional Forest office Samba which was operating from a rental building will now start its operation from the newly constructed Forest office Complex Samba.
Later, the Commissioner /Secretary Forests inaugurated newly constructed Range office building Mohargarh at Bindupara. He briefed about the targets fixed by the department regarding Fencing and plantation to be achieved this year and the progress made in this regard.
The forests department has fixed a target of 15 lakhs plant to be planted this year out of which 7 lakhs have already been planted ending December and plantation work is under progress.
