JAMMU, Aug 12: The inhabitants of Lane Number 1, Block D, Durga Nagar Sector 1 are facing acute scarcity of drinking water.
A delegation of the residents of the area which visited Excelsior said that they brought the matter in the notice of concerned PHE Department officials number of times but they failed to look into the issue and solve the problem.
The residents said that they are purchasing water from private tankers to meet their domestic needs as the Department has totally been callous towards them.
They said however that they are unable to afford the portable water from tankers due to their meager income.
The residents in an appeal to Governor N N Vohra and Advisor incharge PHE Department have sought their immediate intervention in the matter so that the water in accordance to needs of the people is supplied to the area.
