JAMMU, Jan 31: A meeting of Dogra Sadar Sabha (DSS), Tehsil- Khour, was held at Khour (Akhnoor) under the Chairmanship of Sukhdev Singh, president of DSS, Khour, Prem Sagar Gupta-general secretary DSS, J&K, Janak Khajuria, K.P Singh and Ravi Singh Salathia were the chief guest and guests of honour respectively during the meeting.
The meeting was attended by large number of Sabha workers, besides Numberdars, Chowkidars, Sarpanches, Panches and other prominent persons of the border area.
The speakers on the occasion highlighted the various issues confronted the people.
They demanded that remuneration to the Numberdars and Chowkidars is not being paid on regular bases and the same are pending with Government for the last several months.
The members demanded that qualified unemployed physical teachers should be adjusted like the other qualified youth who are being absorbed in different departments like Rehbar-e-Taleem & Rehbar-e-Zarayat.
Proper compensation of the land occupied by the defense purpose be paid to the owners on regular bases.
They also warned the political leaders opposing the announcement of gazetted holiday on the Birth anniversary of “Maharaja Hari Singh Ji”.
