Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, Jan 30: Senior Trade Unionist and Employees Joint Action Committee leader Abdul Qayoom Wani has alleged that temporary/ daily rated workers, especially  those engaged under various Centrally sponsored schemes are being exploited  and treated as bonded labours by the Government.
In a meeting of the EJAC held here today, Wani projected the problems being faced by the employees working under different Centrally sponsored schemes on contractual basis.  He alleged that thousands of qualified youth with professional and technical degrees are working in different Centrally sponsored schemes like NHM, NRHM, SSA, RMSA, MGNREGA, SBM, ICDS projects/ Anganwaris and other schemes on contractual basis having no job security.
Wani said that these professionally trained employees protested repeatedly for their regularization and job security besides for regulating their salaries, but unfortunately the Govt is paying deaf ear towards their genuine demands.
EJAC leader criticized the role of authorities at the helm of affairs for not taking the issue of these poor employees seriously  and maintained that non-seriousness of Govt has put all these employees in mental trauma.
Wani demanded that Govt should frame a clear cut policy for their regularization along with a concrete policy for regulating their services.
The meeting was also attended by Amrik Singh, Ganesh Khajuria, NS Jamwal, Jagdish Sharma, Paramjeet Singh, Pir Nissar Ahmad, Krishan Singh, Vinod Sharma, GM Bugami, Bashir Ahmed Thokar and others.
