JAMMU, Feb 9: A team of officers and officials from Drugs & Food Control Organization today conducted surprise inspection of chemist shops operating in Katra town.
The exercise was conducted as a part of drive to eradicate the menace of drug addiction.
During the inspection, M/s Asha Medicos, M/s Durga Medical Hall, M/s A V Medicos and M/s Happy Home Medicate shops were found operating without services of approved competent staff and the operations of these establishments were disallowed on spot.
Show cause notices were issued to M/s Puneet Medicos, M/s New S P Medicate M/s Atul Medical Hall under the provisions of Drugs and Cosmetics Act and Rules after observing that the units were violating provisions of prescribed regulations.
About 16 samples of various drug formulations of categories viz., antibiotics, anti hypertensive, anti allergic and veterinary items were lifted for testing/analysis and referred to Government Analyst for opinion with reference to their quality.
