SRINAGAR, Apr 14: Police today said it arrested a drug peddler and recovered contraband from his possession in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
A police spokesman said acting on specific information police laid a checkpoint near SK Colony along KP Road in Anantnag town. “During checking, one person identified as Javaid Ahmad Bhat was intercepted. On checking 17 bottles of codeine phosphate were recovered from his possession,” he said.
The spokesman said a case under FIR number 51/2017 under Section 8/21 NDPS was registered and investigation taken up.
