Drug peddler arrested with poppy straw

JAMMU, Dec 7: Bus Stand police under ‘Operation Sanjeevani’ arrested a drug peddler along with 14 kilograms of poppy straw.
As per police sources, during patrolling, a team from Bus Stand Police Station intercepted a person, who was moving under suspicious circumstances.
During checking, police recovered 14 kilograms of poppy straw from a bag being carried by the person and arrested him.
The arrested person has been identified as Jasmer Singh, son of Angrej Singh, a resident of Punjab.
A case under FIR Number 105/17 under Section 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Bus Stand and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Bus Stand Inspector Rajesh Jasrotia made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO City Varun Jandial and SP City Dr Vinod Kumar.
