Drug peddler arrested with heroin worth several lakhs

JAMMU, Sept 28: Police under “Operation Sanjeevani” apprehended a drug peddler along with heroin worth several thousands from Digiana Ashram area.
As per police sources, based on specific information, a police team laid a naka near Digiana Ashram and asked a pedestrian to stop for checking as he was trying to hide himself from the cops.
During checking, police recovered 10 grams of heroin worth several thousands from the possession of the pedestrian and arrested him.
The arrested person has been identified as Kulbir Singh, son of Jagdish Singh, a resident of Preet Nagar Digiana.
A case under FIR Number 167/17 under Section 8/21/22 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered at Gandhi Nagar Police Station and investigation started to ascertain the source of the consignment.
Police team led by SHO Gandhi Nagar DySP (P) Dr Sunniya Ashkoor Wani and assisted by Incharge Digiana Police Post SI Pawan Dogra made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO South Mohammad Rafiq Manhas and Incharge SP South Vinay Kumar.
