RAMBAN, Mar 7: A driver was killed, when the Tata Sumo he was driving, skidded off the road and plunged into gorge near Mahagdhar Sumber area, falling under the jurisdiction of Dhramkund Police Station.
The ill-fated vehicle bearing registration number JK19-2704 was on its way to Sumber from Haroog, when the driver lost control over the vehicle and it plunged into gorge near Mahagdhar Sumber, resulting into on the spot death of the driver.
After getting information, police team rushed to the spot and with the help of locals, retrieved the body from the gorge and shifted it to District Hospital Ramban, where after conduting autopsy, the body was handed over to family members for last rites.
The deceased has been identified as Paramjeet Singh (23), son of Jageer Singh, a resident of Manjal Haroog, District Ramban.
A case under FIR Number 10/18 under Section 279 and 304-A RPC has been registered at Dhramkund Police Station and investigation started.
