Driver injured as truck rolls down in gorge

KATHUA, Jan 7: The driver of a truck bearing registration number JK0F6375was seriously injured after his vehicle rolled down in a 200 feet deep gorge at village Thien near Ghalak in Billawar tehsil of Kathua district today.
The injured driver was identified as Amarjit Singh, S/o Aya Singh of Garigarh Jammu. He was on his way from Udhampur to Kathua via Dhaar road and after reaching near their he lost control over the steering as the road  was slippery due to heavy rainfall and the truck rolled down into the gorge.
He was rescued by the local people of the area who rushed to the spot and informed police also. The injured driver was later admitted in District Hospital Kathua for treatment.
The Hiranagar Police has registered a case under relevant sections of the law in this regard.
