JAMMU, Jan 2: A man was found dead in a passenger taxi “winger” under mysterious circumstances in Bhagwati Nagar area, falling under the jurisdiction of Canal Road police post.
As per police sources, Manjit Singh, son of Raj Singh of Batote was found unconscious in a passenger cab “winger” bearing registration number JK19-0315 at Bhagwati Nagar.
On getting information, police rushed to the spot and shifted him to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), where doctors pronounced him as brought dead.
The body has been shifted to mortuary of the hospital for postmortem, which will be conducted tomorrow.
After completing legal formalities, the body will be handed over to family members for last rites.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered at Canal Road police post and investigation started.
