Driver arrested with huge consignment of banned syrup bottles

RAMBAN, Dec 2: Police busted inter state drugs smuggling racket with the recovery of 1200 banned syrup bottles from a truck driver.
As per police sources, on specific information during the intervening night of December 1 and 2, a police team along with Executive Magistrate laid various special nakas on the National Highway NH-1A between Nashri and Ramban.

During checking, police intercepted a truck at Nashri bearing registration number JK03C-9651, which was on way to Srinagar from New Delhi and after thorough frisking, 1200 bottles of banned syrup concealed in 12 seal bags were recovered from it.
Police team immediately seized the huge quantity of drugs and arrested the driver, who has been identified as namely Yaseen Ahmed Mir, son of Faroq Mir, a resident of Lethpora Pulwama and also seized the vehicle.
A case under FIR Number 83/17 under section NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Batote and investigation started.
The arrested was made by DySP Headquarters Ramban Imtiaz Ahmed and assisted by SHO Batote Inspector Vijay Choudhary and Incharge Patnitop Police Post SI Sandeep Charak under the supervision of Additional SP Ramban Mushtaq Choudhary and SSP Ramban Mohan Lal.
