Driver among two arrested with illicit liquor pouches

RAMBAN, Mar 29: Banihal police arrested two persons including driver along with large quantity of illicit liquor pouches.
As per police spokesman, during checking at Railway T-Chowk, a team from Banihal police station intercepted a Van bearing registration number JK03D-5649.
During checking, police recovered 684 pouches of illicit liquor from the vehicle and arrested two persons including driver.
The accused have been identified as Mohammad Imran Khan (driver), son of Ali Mohammad Khan and Mushtaq Ahmed, son of Abdul Gaffer Ganie, both residents of Tehsil Qazigund.
A case under FIR Number 31/17 under Section 48-A Excise Act has been registered at police station Banihal and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Banihal Inspector Mohammad Afzal Wani made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Banihal Dheeraj Katoch and SSP Ramban Mohan Lal.
