Drabu calls on PM, Jitendra

NEW DELHI, Mar 26:  Jammu and Kashmir Finance Minister, Dr Haseeb Drabu called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi here this evening to apprise him of the State’s financial position and the initiatives being taken by the PDP-BJP coalition Government to set into motion a comprehensive process for the economic development of the State.
Dr Drabu informed the Prime Minister about various initiatives announced in the budget 2015-16 presented in the State Legislature here on March 22 including the maiden move to have a separate power budget for the State, which would go a long way in addressing the energy issues facing Jammu and Kashmir.
Dr Drabu sought Prime Minister’s intervention in ensuring speedy movement forward on the flood relief and rehabilitation package for Jammu and Kashmir to tide over the massive losses in housing, trade, agriculture, horticulture and allied sectors due to the devastating floods that hit the State in September 2014.
The Prime Minister while hailing the initiatives announced in the budget 2015-16 by the PDP-BJP coalition Government in J&K assured speedy positive action on the flood relief package for the State.
Dr Drabu is also scheduled to meet the Union Finance Minister, Arun Jaitley.
Meanwhile, Drabu also called on Minister of State in PMO
Dr Jitendra Singh and discussed with him the prevailing financial situation in Jammu and Kashmir. They were together for half an hour and inter-acted on various other aspects also.
