KATRA, Aug 3: Dr Vivek Kumar Singh has rejoined SMVDU after completing his one year fellowship (UGC-Raman Post-Doctoral Fellowship) in Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL) operated by The Regents of the University of California, Berkeley for the US Department of Energy (DOE).
Dr Singh is doing his research on the “Use and Advancement of Laser Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy (LIBS) in Chemical Analysis and Chemical Imaging Applications” at the state-of-the-art ultrafast laser facilities at LBNL.
Dr Singh extensively studied the Physics of the laser induced lithium and hydrogen plasma and their isotopes. During his time at LBNL, Dr Singh performed at a high level and his research efforts elucidated aspects of chemical imaging with LIBS that had not been studied in the past, thereby breaking new ground in the field.
Dr Singh also visited some reputed Institutions and Universities like Institute for Clean Energy Technology, Mississippi State University, Jackson State University, Mississippi College (A Christian University), and The Institute of Optics, University of Rochesterfor for future research collaborations.
