Poonch, July 10: To cater to the increasing need of water supply in Poonch and Mandi, Dr Shehnaz Ganai today provided 5000 ltr water capacity Tanker to the PHE Department Poonch out of her Constituency Development fund.
While speaking on the occasion, Dr Ganai said that there was a demand of the general public of the area for providing water tanker, which would have the ability to supply the water in the interior city areas of the Poonch town, which is facing acute water crisis.
Dr Ganai said that Poonch is one among the most rapidly growing cities of the State which has resulted into new habitations in the city outskirts and further said that we understand the challenges being faced by the department to cover up the new habitations. The population of the towns of Poonch is increasing day by day and our focus should always be in dealing with the scarcity of water, Dr Ganai said.
She further said that nature has blessed Poonch with plenty of natural water resources, and urged the department to gear up their resources for taping them effectively, so that the water crisis faced by the public gets resolved.
Present on the occasion were Executive Engineer PHE Poonch, AEE, JEs and other functionaries of PHE Poonch besides prominent citizens of Poonch city.
