JAMMU, May 29: Trouncing their rivals convincingly in their respective finals, Dr Sandeep emerged Badminton singles champion, while Naresh Sharma won Carrom men singles title in the ongoing Jammu University Employees Tournaments in the disciplines of Table-Tennis, Carrom and Badminton men and women, organized by the Campus Sports Committee of the University of Jammu at the Gymnasium Hall of the Directorate of Sports & Physical Education, here.
Earlier, in Badminton singles final, Dr Sandeep Arya drubbed Vikas Karlopia by 2-0, while in Badminton (Men) doubles final, the duo of Dr Sandeep Arya and Vishal Sudan beat Vikas Karlopia and Vinay Manhas by 2-0.
In Badminton (Mix Doubles) final, Dr Sandeep Arya and Dr Mdhulika Bhagat got the better of Vishal Sudan and Seemka Rathore by 2-0.
In Carrom (Men) final, Naresh Sharma defeated Vishal Sharma to clinch the title, while in Carrom (Men) doubles final, the pair of Naresh Sharma and Joginder Singh
Chib beat Vishal Sudan and Gagandeep Singh to win the title.
The matches were officiated by Ravish Vaid, Gagan Kumar, Varun Gupta, Sanjeev Sharma, Ankit Sharma, Tarvinder Pal Singh, Jeevan Lal and Rishav Sharma.
The tournament is being organized by Chairperson, Campus Sports Committee, Prof Neeru Sharma, under the overall supervision of Dr Daud Iqbal Baba, Director, Directorate of Sports and Physical Education and Incharge PTI Campus Raj Kumar Bakshi.
