JAMMU, Aug 11: Dr T. R. Raina former Prof Head Blood Transfusion Department Government Medical College Jammu and former Programme Manager Blood Transfusion and Laboratory Services, J&K attended the Governing Body Meeting of Indian Society of Blood Transfusion & Immunohaematology (ISBTI) at Vishakhapatnam. The meeting was organised to finalise the arrangements for the forth coming National Conference of ISBTI, TRANSCON -2018 to be held at Vishakhapatnam from October 26 to 28.
During the meeting with the members of the organizing committee of the conference, all aspects of the arrangements of the conference were deliberated in detail and final decisions taken. About 500 to 600 delegates from across the country are expected to participate.
ISBTI is non profitable organization working in the field of promotion of voluntary blood donation and scientific advancement in the blood banking of the country for more than 44 years, having more than 6000 life members, Zonal Councils & State Chapters in all the states. The vision of ISBTI is that “Safe blood should be waiting for the patients not the patients should be waiting for the safe blood” and the mission is to “achieve 100% voluntary blood donation in the country”.
