Dr Raina attends ISBTI meet at Kota

Jammu, Dec 15: Dr T. R. Raina, former Prof Head Blood Transfusion Department Government Medical College Jammu and Former Programme Manager Blood Transfusion and Laboratory services J&K State attended the national conference of Indian Society of Blood Transfusion & Immunohaemato-logy (ISBTI) held at Government Medical College Kota.
It was attended by more than 500 delegates from across the country and abroad including voluntary blood donors, donor motivators, camp organizers , Blood Bank Officers , experts in Transfusion Medicine and the faculty of GMC Kota.
ISBTI is non profitable   organization working in the field of promotion of Voluntary blood donation & scientific advancement in the Blood Banking of the country for more than 43 years, having more than 5000 life members, Zonal Councils & State Chapters in all the States.
Being the Secretary General of ISBTI, Dr Raina conduced the ISBTI Governing Body Meeting, Editorial Board Meeting of official Journal of iSBTI & Annual General Meeting of ISBTI. He delivered guest lectures on “Science & Philosophy of givingness & Voluntary Blood Donation” ,  “Blood  Donor’s Reactions & its Management” &  “Holistic Health”, and Science of Yoga and Stress Management with Some Simple Yogic techniques”.
During the conference, Dr Kiran Sharma, a Medical Officer of  Police Line Hospital Jammu who has donated blood for 53 times was felicitated with Award of Excellence for her contribution in promoting the voluntary blood donation in the country especially in J&K. Shabir Hussain Khan from Kashmir, a centurion voluntary blood donor who has donated blood more than 100 times and is known as “Blood Man of Kashmir” was also felicitated with Dr Usha Gupta Award.
