JAMMU, July 30: Dr Pavan Malhotra, Professor and Head Department of Pharmacology, today took over as the new Director Principal of ASCOMS and Hospital, Sidhra.
He took over the charge from Dr Rattan Prakash Kudyar, a prominent Endocrinologist of international repute, who held the office for three years.
Dr Malhotra, who took over as the new Director Principal, is a legendary figure and possesses exceptionally great combination of qualities. He is an alumni of GMC Jammu, who did his MD in Pharmacology in 1997 and has been working with ASCOMS & Hospital Sidhra since 1998.
In 2012, he was awarded fellowship of International Medical Sciences Academy (IMSA) at UAE and later was inducted as Member of National Academy of Medical Sciences for its forthcoming annual conference, being held at Mauritius. In 2014, he was awarded MRCP (Clinical Pharmacology) by Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons, Glasgow, UK. He is the first Pharmacologist of the State who has been conferred this rare honour, both by the British and American Colleges, simultaneously. He is also associated with change of curriculum/teaching activities being run by the MCI.
While taking over as the new Director Principal, Dr Malhotra appealed the faculty to work in unison for the benefit of the institution and patient care.
