Dr Meenu gets Intl fellowship

JAMMU, Sept 26: Dr Meenu Gupta, Radiation Oncologist, a graduate from  Govt Medical College Jammu, has been  awarded international fellowship by Association of Radiation Oncologist of India.
On the recommendation of Dr Stephen Hahn, Chair, Department of Radiation Oncology Department, Dr Meenu will be working at Division of Radiation Oncology, The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, Texas in USA.
She would work under the guidance of  Dr Krishnan, Director of the Center for Radiation Oncology Research  MD Anderson, who is doing research on identifying strategies for and mechanisms of sensitization of tumors to radiation therapy using metallic nanoparticles to generate radiation dose-enhancement and hyperthermia.
Dr Meenu has got published more than 60 international and national studies in clinical research. She has the distinction of having carried out the intra-luminal brachytherapy in lung cancer and she has treated more than 3000 cancer  patients with conformal radiotherapy.
She is life member of various national oncology and international societies including Radiological Society of North America. Her multi- faceted nature, exemplary, communication skills and commitment towards poor patients started ” Sushila Devi Mirpur Cancer Welfare Charity” program  through which she has given medical and partial financial support to poor patients suffering from cancer.
