SAMBA, Feb 16: MLA Samba, Dr Devinder Kumar Manyal today inaugurated a public awareness campaign cum interactive session on various centrally sponsored schemes at Government Boys Higher Secondary School Samba. The programme was organised by Directorate of Field Publicity, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Govt of India in close coordination with District Administration. Director, Field Publicity Govt of India ,R.P Saroj, Additional DC Samba Tilak Raj Sharma, Deputy Director Field Publicity Neha Jalali and District officers from various departments were also present on the occasion.
Resource persons from Banks, Social welfare, Health, JKEDI, Education and other departments spoke on the occasion and informed about various activities taken by them under Centrally sponsored schemes and procedure for availing them. They specifically highlighted social security schemes and importance of financial inclusion and cashless transactions.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Samba stressed on the need for proper dissemination of information regarding Government schemes as there are more than 72 schemes being implemented by various agencies. He said that field functionaries of various departments should act as facilitators for implementation of their schemes. He also called for simplification of documentation required for availing these schemes. He spoke about PM Awas Yojana, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao and social security insurance schemes. He asked officials from Field Publicity Department to organise more such programmes in rural areas. Director, FP informed about programmes undertaken by Department for promotion of welfare schemes for general masses across the State.
Later a cultural programmes promoting Government schemes were also presented by artists of Song and Drama Division, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India.
