Jammu, July 8: The fraternity of Vascular specialists of Jammu met today and formed a new society with the name of Jammu Vascular Society
The society includes Vascular surgeons, interventional Cardiologists, Vascular radiologist and general surgeons with interest in vascular work
Convenor of the society Dr Arvind Kohli said there has been alarming increase in the number of patients suffering from Vascular diseases as well as complications arising out of these ailments namely loss of limbs, stroke venous thrombosis and even loss of life and this society shall be making all out effort or spreading regularly the awareness regarding the prevention of Vascular diseases in form of cessation of smoking importance of walking and healthy life style.
The society shall be interacting with various other public organisations regarding highlighting the importance of early diagnosis and treatment of these ailments, he added.
Further, he said, the Society shall be a platform for holding activities for skill development of Vascular specialist,for acquiring the latest techniques in the field of endovascular interventions by arranging skill development workshops and continuing medical education programs
Present on the occasion were Dr Gurjit Singh, Dr Noor Ali, Dr Sushil Sharma, Dr Ishtiaq Mir, Dr Rahul Gupta, Dr Rohit and Dr Abhinav.
