VALSAD (GUJARAT), Oct 6: Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) of the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, Dr Jitendra Singh today reiterated the BJP target of 150+ seats for Gujarat in forthcoming Assembly elections.
In his day-long tour today of the different Assembly segments falling in the Valsad district of the State, Dr Jitendra Singh rebutted the Congress Party refrain that BJP was trying to create a hype of 150+ seats without any substantial evidence on the ground and sarcastically responded saying, “the Congress Party may be right because the BJP target of 150+ could also exceed 160+ or 170+.”
Presiding over a series of meetings with eight different BJP Mandals (Blocks) in the district as well as with the Media Cell and IT Cell teams of the district, Dr Jitendra Singh said, in the last few weeks, the Congress Party has sharpened its propaganda machinery and this has to be dealt with discretion and an imaginative approach.
Dr Jitendra Singh also took a review of the arrangements being made for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s rally scheduled for 16th of this month when the PM is expected to address over 10 lakh BJP Booth Workers and Karyakartas. In addition, he disclosed, that several national leaders have also been scheduled to undertake visits to the State during the next few weeks.
A notable difference in the coming elections, Dr Jitendra Singh said, would be that the BJP is set to receive a huge support from the tribal and poor strata of society, who had been bluffed by the false Congress promises over the last several decades, but in the recent few years of the BJP rule, they have realized the real fruits of development and economic upliftment. With BJP government both at the Centre and the State, they find their future safe and prosperous in the hands of political dispensation led by Narendra Modi and Amit Shah.
The development model evolved by the State of Gujarat, Dr Jitendra Singh said, with special focus on roads and power sector, has alleviated the hardships of several decades of Congress rule and now, it is an example to be followed by the other States of India.
Earlier on his arrival at Valsad this morning, he was warmly received by the BJP State and District office bearers. He later spent nearly 7 hours at a stretch in analyzing, grading and calculating vote projections at booth level in each of the Mandals (Blocks) falling in the district.
