Dr Jitendra pays Rs 50,000 to 2 Pencak Silat players

JAMMU, Dec 8: Union Minister of State in PMO, Dr Jitendra Singh today paid Rs 50,000, to two Pencak Silat players 25,000 each who have been selected from the State for World Pencak Silt Championship in men’s and women’s category to be played at Singapore from December 11 to 18 this year.
The two players of the State belonging to Jammu region who have been selected for the championship are Karan Chopra and Komal Dhiman. They called on Dr Jitendra Singh here, today along with the president of Pencak Silat Association of J&K, Gorav Arora and submitted a memorandum to him seeking the financial assistance from Government for attending the Championship at abroad.
The Union Minister assured full support and assistance from the Government to them and expressed the hope that the two players will bring laurels to country and State.
He said the Narendra Modi led Government has given lot of importance to sports in the country as “we believe all round development of the people is not only must for over all development and prosperity of the nation but for bringing a sense of discipline among the masses”.
BJYM National Executive member Bharat Sharma and BJP treasurer, Arvind Gupta were also present on the occasion.
