NEW DELHI, Apr 11: Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) of the Ministry of Development of North-Eastern Region (DoNER), MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions, Atomic Energy & Space, Dr Jitendra Singh today launched here today the On-line “Dashboard” portal for grievance monitoring.
At a ceremony held at North Block , Dr Jitendra Singh, in presence of Union Secretary DoPT C. Chandramouli, Union Secretary ARPG K.V. Eapen and senior officers from different Ministries of the Union Government, performed the On-line launching of the new “Dashboard” by pushing the button of the mouse and at the same time, also released a hard-copy of the same.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Jitendra Singh said, soon after the Modi Government took over in May 2014, Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave us the dictum of “maximum governance”, the essence of which is the maximum participation of the citizen with transparency and accountability. Looking back four years, he said, we stand vindicated by having sought to live up to this objective.
The Dashboard launched today, Dr Jitendra Singh said, presents an instant and real-time feedback about the number of grievances received in each of the different Ministries and Departments in Government of India, the nature of the grievances, the time taken for disposal of each of the grievances and the manner of disposal of each of the grievances. This, he said, will also offer a resource material for planning future course of action by the Department of Administrative Reforms & Public Grievances (ARPG) for the benefit of the different departments in Government of India, so that they may be able to perform to the maximum satisfaction of the citizen.
During a presentation made on the occasion, an on-line appraisal was also offered about the grievances and the reforms undertaken in the Union Ministries of Railways, Petroleum & Natural Gas, Central Board of Direct Taxes, Health & Family Welfare and External Affairs. The information available will also serve as a feedback for the respective Ministries for a course correction, whenever and wherever required.
On the occasion, Dr Jitendra Singh also released a compilation of recommendations based on the “Anubhav” portal started two years ago, wherein, as an innovative initiative, the retiring government officials are expected to write their experiences before superannuation.
Dr Jitendra Singh said, the compilation based on the experiences of retiring officials will offer valuable insights for addressing some of the systemic flaws which might have otherwise gone unnoticed.
