Dr Bindeshwar Pathak calls on Speaker, Deputy CM

JAMMU, Apr 27: During his three day visit to Jammu, Padma Bhushan Dr Bindeshwar Pathak, founder, Sulabh International  met the Speaker of State Assembly, Kavinder Gupta and Dy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh .
During his interaction he discussed various issues pertaining to the community development and community involvement for the hygiene and sanitation for the Jammu & Kashmir. He stressed upon the need for the holistic participation for the aesthetic development of the localities.
For making the hygiene and human development integral to the well being at all levels, he said, “Government alone cannot  be able to  a game changer for the overall development of the society. Participation of all segments of the society has to be made integral to the community development model in every segment of society in parts of the world,” he added.
He said 700 crore world population can be catered to in terms of making the planet Earth  a sustainable place for aesthetically viable place  when a sense of being stake holder  for development is  catalysed in all beings.”
Appreciating the peerless work being done by Dr.Bindeshwar Pathak through Sulabh International and making the Indian nation proud, Kavinder Gupta, Speaker, State Assembly said, “it is a privilege to have Dr.Pathak amongst us and he is a role model for the sustainable development model for cleanliness, hygiene that has stood the test of the time and has not only been adopted in India but the world over. He has revolutionized the perception about sanitation and cleanliness, he added.”
Applauding the missionary zeal of Dr. Bindeshwar Pathak, Deputy Chief Minister, Dr.Nirmal Singh, said “he has led the cleanliness revolution  from the front and removed the taboo associated with it by making it  ethical  issue that concerns us all. This is a unique contribution of this legend. I request him to give his vision based on his vision and experience for the ‘Jammu Smart City’ so that we can adopt it and make it a model project in Jammu and Kashmir that can be emulated in the whole State.”
