SRINAGAR, May 22: Bhartiya Janta Party senior leader and party spokesperson Dr Darakhshan Andrabi met Union Defence Minister Monohar Parrikar here today.
Dr Andrabi discussed the latest security situation in the State with the minister and briefed him on the political and security situation in the State. She also presented a memorandum to the Defence Minister in which she demanded a package of development for the Cantonment managed colonies of Srinagar city which were severely-hit by the recent floods that damaged all infrastructure.
She also expressed her viewpoint on the effective steps needed for more public friendly activities of Army in the State. Dr Andrabi said that the Army has been the biggest employment source for the youth of the State but still special employment drive for the State in Army is still awaited.
