NOWSHERA, Mar 17: Former MLC and chief spokesperson of Pradesh Congress  Ravinder Sharma today said that displaced persons of 1947 from PoJK and Aadhar card seekers in Nowshera- Sunderbani belt are running from pillar to post but Govt is totally indifferent to their plight.
The PCC leader addressed series of meetings during his two days’ tour of Nowshera-Sunderbani and met  the people of all walks of life and listened  their day today problems.
While addressing public meeting at Nowshera today,  Sharma said that the Govt  has failed on all fronts and the general public is struggling for the  basic amenities of life,  like ration, drinking water and power. There is great resentment amongst the people against the Government,  especially pick and choose on political considerations in providing basic necessities.
Sharma said that the PDS system of the State Govt has totally collapsed. It has miserably failed to provide ration to the people even after increasing the price at the rate of Rs 5 per Kg. He said the Govt is talking for linking Aadhar Cads to the ration but it is unfortunate that 40% population of Rajouri district  is without Aadhar cards. The process of preparing Aadhar cards is faulty as there is heavy rush and the people especially the old, women and sick people have to stand in queues for hours together for their turn  while several new conditions are being sought for enrolment.
On the issue of refugees, PCC leader said that Govt has all the details of the DPs from POJK since their migration and subsequent allotments of lands/quarters and pending claims etc but unreasonable instruction being issued in order to keep them engaged which is resulting into avoidable sufferings to them. He said that the Govt wants to prolong the process of disbursement of relief, as it has no intention to grant full package as recommended by NC-Congress Govt.
Prominent among those who addressed the meeting included Som Nath, Ch Tara Chand, HL Bakshi, Subash Kapoor,  Jagdish Sawhney,  Isher Singh,  Rajinder Singh, Sub Karam Chand (Ex-Sarpanchs), Capt Ravinder Singh, Chander Bakshi and Ramji Dass Sharma.
