DODA, Oct 23: A democracy run’ under Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) was held here today.
The rally which started from Sports stadium Doda passed through Doda main town via Dessa Chowk, Bus Stand, Nagri, Tondwah and culminated at the stadium.
A large gathering of people including officers and officials from Army, Police, Civil Administration and students caring stickers with SVEEP messages participated in the rally.
During the run, Sepoy Dohla Ram, Havildar Ravinder Singh and Sepoy Jaipal Singh bagged first, second and third positions respectively under paramilitary forces category.
Under students’ category, Jivan Singh of GHSS Boys Doda, Dimple Kumar of HSS Shiva and Tariq Hussain of Green Model HSS Doda clinched first, second and third positions respectively.
Besides, the first position under Civil Administration/officers category went to Yash Pal of Revenue Department, whereas the second and third positions were secured by Captain Sangram Singh of 10 RR and Colonel Uphadhaya of 1O RR respectively.
Speaking on the occasion, District Election Officer , DDC Doda, Bhupinder Kumar appealed all the participants to get themselves enrolled in the voter list if they are 18 years or above as on January 1. He also asked them to update their entry in the voter list by filling form 6, 7, 8 and 8-A with the concerned BLO as the process of special summary revision 2017 is going on in the district.
