Doda migrants demand residential quarters

JAMMU, Nov 29: Doda Migrants Welfare Committee today demanded that they should also be provided residential quarters even as they lauded the Government for granting them relief at par with Kashmiri migrants.
In a meeting of the Doda Migrant Welfare Committee, which was also attended by MLA Doda, Shakti Parihar as chief guest, the Government was also urged to prepare a comprehensive list of relief beneficiaries by including unregistered migrants from Doda.
On the occasion, president of Doda Migrants Committee, Suraj Rana, announced dissolution of the body.
MLA Shakti Parihar also spoke on the occasion and said that the Government at Centre as well as in the State was committed for providing all necessary relief to the migrants. He also drew attention towards the Government decision of increasing honorarium of SPOs and VDCs, who have played a crucial role in fight against terrorism.
The meeting was attended by Shyam Lal Bhagat, Thakur Singh, Dhul Raj, Raj Singh, Wali Mohammad, Joginder Singh, Sandesh Kumar Bhagat, Kuldeep Singh, Rajinder Singh, Inderjit Singh and others.
