POONCH, Apr 23: The doctors and other para-medical staff often remain missing in Mendhar Sub District Hospital and other health centers of the Sub Division.
The general public of the area has alleged that doctors and para-medical staff often remains missing. Today when Excelsior team visited the hospital, some people waiting outside the X-Ray room told that they were coming to hospital for the last 4-5 days for X-Ray but they were made to go back by the staff on the plea that concerned X-Ray technician was on leave and one day it was told that there  was no power supply. They said that they come from far-flung border belt but the facilities are not available. Even during Pak shelling the injured are made to suffer due to non-availability of proper medical help.
There was huge rush of parents with their children  outside the room of  child specialist but the doctor was not available. Some people alleged  that doctor is some times seen sitting in a private medical shop even during the duty hours and is hardly available in the hospital. He, however returned to his room when team started inquiry.
BMO, Mendhar Dr Parvez Ahmed, however, denied the allegations and said that doctor was within the premises and was performing his duty. He said some times staff members have to go on leave due to personal problem but it is not the case that doctors and other staff  always  remain absent. He said that he himself  monitors the attendance of the staff.
