DLTFC approves 84 cases under PMEGP

KATHUA, July 11: District Development Commissioner, Ramesh Kumar has instructed the implementing agencies for Prime Minister Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) to systematically implement the scheme in the district so that more employment opportunities can be created for unemployed youth.
DDC gave the directions while chairing a review meeting of the PMEGP scheme held  here today. He requested the bankers to extend their proactive support to the beneficiaries under the scheme and ensure settlement of pending claims so that the PMEGP targets for the year can be achieved.
The DDC enjoined upon the officers to provide full support to the budding entrepreneurs especially to the unemployed youth so as to provide them an opportunity to establish various income generating units.
While discussing the object of the scheme, DDC called upon the departments and agencies to create awareness about the scheme  especially unemployed youth . He also stressed for educating youth to get registered through online portal of respective departments and agencies. He directed officers to ensure linkage of trained beneficiaries of skill development courses with PMEGP so that skilled youth are given an opportunity to reap benefits under PMEGP as well.
During the meeting cases were put up before the District Level Task Force Committee (DLTFC) to scrutinize the eligible cases of loans. Among the cases 42 were sponsored by KVIB, 38 by District Industries Centre and 4 by KVIC for establishing small scale units during the current fiscal year.
LBM Kathua, GM DIC, and representatives from KVIB, KVIC were present on the meeting.
