Divisive politics of PDP-BJP bringing miseries: Manjit

VIJAYPUR,  Mar 1:  Senior Congress leader  and former minister Manjit Singh today criticized some political leaders who push youth towards the militancy to fulfill their political motives.
In a press statement here today, Manjit Singh said that the political situation in Jammu and Kashmir has been terrible from the day PDP-BJP came to power and Congress had apprehended that such situation might occurred after the formation of alliance Government which is antagonistic to each other.
“J&K is passing through a tough phase under the present regime which it self has lots of differences and it has made the people of the state scapegoats,” Singh  cautioned the people, adding that this Government has disrespected martyrs by not giving them compensations like other states of the country.
In rest of the states, he said, the respective Governments gave compensations to the martyrs and due respect was given to their families but in Jammu and Kashmir, the martyrs not given respect, they deserve.
“The soldiers and police men fight militancy and sacrifice their lives for the sake of country, but this Government has not given them respect and honour, they deserve,” he maintained.
He further said that the present Government has been playing the politics of divide and rule and it has badly affected the social fabric of the society where people from all section including castes, creed religion and regions lived peaceful and such atmosphere always helps the State and the country grow all round.
In such a hostile atmosphere, he said, some vested interests take advantage issues   statements which suits militants and anti-nationals like one was issued recently.
He criticized attempt to hail militants and promoting Kashmiri youths to join militancy. “Such statements show selfishness of the politicians who can cross all limits for their political interests. Such statements should not have been given instead, morale of the security forces should be increased to neutralize the militancy,” he added.
