Div Com, VC JU call on Governor

SRINAGAR, Aug 19: Shantmanu, Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, called on N. N. Vohra, Governor, at Raj Bhavan, here this evening.
The Divisional Commissioner briefed the Governor about the overall law and order situation in the Jammu Division.
This was Shantmanu’s first meeting with the Governor after recently taking over as Divisional Commissioner, Jammu. The Governor wished Shantmanu a very successful tenure ahead.
Prof. M. P. S. Ishar, Vice Chancellor, Jammu University also called on Mr. Vohra.
Prof. Ishar discussed several issues relating to the University’s functioning with the Governor, who is Chancellor of the Jammu University. Among the matters discussed were issues relating to the development and functioning of off-site Campuses.
The Governor reiterated the vital importance of ensuring the highest standards of teaching and research in all centres within and outside the University Campus.
The Vice Chancellor also briefed the Governor about the to-date status of the various arrangements being made for the Indian Science Congress which will be held at the Jammu University from February 3-7, 2014.
