Div Com reviews status of Greater Srinagar Master Plan

SRINAGAR, Oct 15: Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan convened a meeting of officers to review the progress of revised Master Plan for greater Srinagar city 2016-2023, here today.
The Chief Town Planner Kashmir, Fayaz Ahmed Khan apprised about the latest status of Master Plan preparations and informed that most of the data-base information has been received from all the stock holders including line departments which was a mandatory exercise for devising the document.
He maintained that the exercise will be a comprehensive in nature and will provide necessary inputs enabling the basis for smart city proposals. The Master Plan will have an area of about 758 square kilometres which will take care of tourism, housing and other requirements.
The Divisional Commissioner directed the concerned officers to personally visit New Delhi along with data-base for seeking experts’ opinion within a week’s time. He also directed all concerned HoDs to certify the data which they have submitted to the Town Planning Department for the preparation of document. He also authorities will be personally responsible for any lacuna in the data.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, besides officers of LAWDA, SDA, Urban Local Bodies, SMC, Tourism, Forest Department, Chief Engineers Irrigation, Flood Control.
