Div Com reviews functioning of R&B Deptt

SRINAGAR, Jan 14: The Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan today reviewed the functioning and progress R&B Department. He took stock of the work being carried on various roads projects besides construction of bridges in Kashmir division by R&B Department
The meeting was attended by Chief Engineer R&B, all Superintending Engineers, Executive Engineers and other concerned.
On the occasion, the Chief Engineer briefed that 222 kilometers of road length has been blacktopped and macadamized under NABARD scheme during current fiscal and rest of the work will be completed before the completion of the financial year. He said the various developmental projects are being implemented under District and State sector, besides cities and towns category. He informed that other projects including widening/upgradation of Ladoora-Achabal road,  construction of girls hostel under RMSA, creation of Cluster University under RMSA, polytechnic institutions, besides upgradation of Khanabal-Pahalgam road via Seer Hamdan.
The Divisional Commissioner directed the officers to expedite all works and prepare a comprehensive report regarding the acquisition of lands, buildings & forest lands and submit the report within a week so that all bottlenecks are removed at an earliest.
He stressed all officers and engineers to work with added zeal and dedication and ensure timely completion of all the developmental projects besides quality and judicious use of funds.
Meanwhile, Baseer Ahmad Khan inspected General Bus Stand Batamaloo.
Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Dr Farooq Ahmad Lone, who is also holding the charge of Commissioner SMC, SSP Srinagar, SSP Traffic and other concerned officers accompanied the Div Com during the visit.
The Div Com also convened a meeting with representatives of private bus operators who apprised him about various issues confronted them at the stand. The Div Com gave patient hearing to them and assured that their genuine grievances would be redressed on priority.
