Div Com reviews development works at Sukrala Mata Shrine

KATHUA, Feb 27: Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Shantmanu, who is also Chairman of Shri Sukrala Mata Shrine Board; accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Kathua, Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, members of Shrine Board and senior officers of district administration visited Shri Sukrala Mata and reviewed the developmental issues and progress made on various fronts.
Earlier, the Divisional Commissioner convened a meeting of Board members and district officers at Billawar to fine tune the developmental requirements for upgradation of facilities for pilgrims at shrine and in its vicinity. Zorawar Singh, member SSMSB presented a resume of status of various activities and requirements for upgradation of facilities while SDM Billawar Rajeshwar Singh Charak presented details of developmental works under taken and managerial activities in and around the shrine.
The Chairman issues instructions for installation of high power generator for uninterrupted power supply at shrine, installation of high mast lights, donation boxes, suggestion cum complaint boxes, signboards and improvements in office infrastructure.
Deputy Commissioner Kathua directed departments of PHE, Power and PWD for immediate developmental works around shrine and also instructed the CEO Lakhanpur Sarthal Development Authority for early completion of tourist building at Sukrala. Issues related to enhancement in security of shrine and provision of proper water and power supply were also discussed in the meeting. CEO LSDA Dr Bharat Bhushan presented details of various wayside amenities being developed for pilgrims.
Shantmanu also inaugurated a double storey toilet complex having 9 WCs and 6 bath rooms constructed by the board near Bus Stand Sukrala Mata at a cost of Rs 19 Lakhs recently. A bore-well is also being installed near the toilet complex by the executing agency.
SDM Billawar, Tehsildar Billawar, BDO Billawar, Dy CEO, and officers of PHE, PWD, PDD, PMGSY, Health and other departments presented details of various departmental works near the shrine and various activities being undertaken for improvements in management of shrine.
