JAMMU, Jan 12: Sanjeev Verma, Divisional Commissioner Jammu, met Governor Satya Pal Malik at the Raj Bhavan here today.
Verma apprised Governor about the present status of construction of individual and community bunkers all along the International Border and Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu Division. He also gave first hand appraisal of pace of various developmental activities in Jammu Division.
Governor stressed for expediting the pace of works ensuring timely completion of construction of individual and community bunkers to protect lives of border residents and other under-execution developmental projects in the Division.
D.C. Raina, Advocate General (AG) also met Governor Satya Pal Malik and briefed him about the status of important cases relating to J&K pending in the Supreme Court of India. He also briefed about the cases pending in State High Court.
Governor asked AG to keep him regularly informed about the to-date status of all important cases relating to the State pending in the Supreme Court, High Court, including the National Green Tribunal.
Meanwhile, a joint delegation of Federation of Industry, Jammu; Federation of Industry, Kashmir; Kashmir Economic Alliance; Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Jammu led by their respective Chairmen, met Governor.
The delegation discussed some issues of urgent nature with regard to industrial sector which include extension of time and review of capping for availing the benefits of recently announced industrial package.
Governor observed that necessary measures would be taken for the redressal of these issues and promotion and development of industrial sector in the State.
A delegation of Sarpanchs from Ramban district also met Governor.
Expressing gratitude for conducting fair and incident free Panchayat elections in the State, the delegation appealed Governor for strengthening the Panchayati Raj institutions in the State.
The delegation also projected demands which include up-gradation of local schools, macadamization of roads, conduct of special recruitment drive in district, opening of website for registration of left-out beneficiaries for Awaas Plus, release of funds to clear liabilities under MGNREGA and for completion & renovation of Panchayat Ghars.
Governor observed that their demands would be looked into and due consideration would be given.
