SRINAGAR, Nov 21: The District Kupwara Chess Championship 2018 concluded today at My New School Drugmulla, Kupwara.
The championship was organized by District Kupwara Chess Association under aegis J&K State Sports Council and All J&K Chess Association in collaboration with Growth Sports Academy.
Sajjad Ahmad Wani, chairman, My New School & B.Ed College, who was the chief guest on the occasion, distributed prizes, trophies and certificates among the participants.
The championship was held in three categories Senior, Junior and Sub Junior (boys and girls). In senior category, Gul-budin-Mir secured 1st position, Ishfaq Ahmad bagged 2nd position and Sajjad Ahmad got 3rd position.
In junior category, Sania Farooq secured 1st position, Najmus Saqib got 2nd position while 3rd position went to Fazil Rasool. In sub junior category, Meneeb-ul-Rahman got 1st position, Muzamil Jan secured 2nd position and Lubna Farooq bagged 3rd position.
