District Level Inter-Zonal Tournament organized

REASI, May 11: The Inter-Zonal Tournament of District Reasi for Boys Under-14 and Under-17 years was held at General Zorawar Sports Stadium Reasi in which 220 players of all the five Zones comprising Chassana, Mahore, Arnas, Pouni and Reasi participated in the disciplines of Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Volleyball & Wrestling.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Guest, Sanjay Singh Rana KPS, Additional Superintendent of Police stressed upon the participants to make sports a regular feature as it provides equal opportunities to all to excel irrespective of caste, colour and creed. Zonal Physical Education Officer, Om Parkash and Ajay Kumar Billa, Lecturer Physical Education were also present on the occasion.
The tournament is being organized by the Office of the District Youth Services & Sports Officer Reasi as per the Calendar of Activities approved by the Directorate of Youth Services & Sports, Jammu and Kashmir, under the supervision of DYSSO Reasi, Dr SS Chib.
The Officiating Panel comprising Lecturer’s, PEMs and PETs working under the Office of the District Youth Services and Sports Officer Reasi Officiated the matches in the various disciplines.
Zone Reasi emerged District Champions in Kho-Kho Under 14 & 17 years defeating Zone Mahore and Pouni by12-03 and 08-07 respectively.
Zone Mahore got the better of Zone Arnas with the score of 39-30 in the finals of Under 14 years whereas Zone Pouni beat Zone Reasi by a narrow margin of 2 points with the score remaining 50-48 at the end of the regulation time.
Zone Reasi won the District Championship title in Volleyball by defeating Zone Pouni in straight sets with the score remaining at 25-22 and 25-23 in the finals of under 14 categories whereas in under 17 year boys section, Zone Pouni defeated Zone Reasi by 02-00 with the score of 25-20, 25-23.
In Wrestling under 14 years of age group Hardeev Singh of Zone Chassana, Mohd Afzal of Arnas Zone and Paramjeet Singh of Zone Arnas remained winners in their respective categories, while Kuldeep Singh, Madhan Singh and Sanjveevan Singh of Zone Reasi, Jeet Singh and Abhishek Singh of Zone Arnas and Sonu Kumar of Zone Mahore were the winners in Under 17 Years.
