KATHUA, Nov 9: District Kathua Wrestling Championship concluded at Judo Hall Sports Stadium Rajbagh, here today.
The Championship was organized by District Kathua Wrestling Association under the banner of Jammu and Kashmir Wrestling Association and sponsored by J&K State Sports Council.
Thirty wrestlers representing various Wrestling units including Lal Singh Akhara Rajbagh, under different weight categories as per WFI guidelines participated in the day-long event.
Rajinder Singh Babbi, Member Jammu Kashmir State Sports Council and Ex Municipal Chairman was the chief guest on the inaugural function.
Daleep Singh, Ex Sarpanch and General Secretary, District Kathua Wrestling Association was the organizing secretary of the Championship, while Jagbeer Singh, President Minority Cell Kathua was the guest of honour who distributed prizes, medals and certificates to the participating wrestlers.
The bouts were officiated by the team of experts namely Mohd Quassim (Mat Chairman), Rakesh Khajuria General Secretary JKWA (Director Competition), Punjab Singh PEM (Referee) and Sanjeev Kumar Sharma.
Event was organized under the overall supervision of Rakesh Khajuria, General Secretary JKWA and Rajinder Singh Babbi, President District Kathua Wrestling Association.
Championship Trophy was won by the wrestlers of Choudhdhry Lal Singh Akhara Rajbagh, Kathua.
