JAMMU, Oct 3: Three days District Handball Championship in men and women began at STC Ground MA Stadium, here today.
The championship is being organized by the J&K Handball Association in collaboration with J&K State Sports Council.
Shiv Kumar Sharma, Joint Secretary J&K State Sports Council Jammu was the chief guest and Dr SM Bali, Joint Secretary Indian Olympic Association was the guest of honour on the opening ceremony.
About 120 players of 8 different Handball clubs of the district Jammu are participating in the tournament.
The matches were officiated by Gaurav Sharma, Kartar Dogra, Megha, Pooonam Rajput and Simran
The 1st match in Senior boys section was played between STC Jammu and Rehari Club in which STC Jammu defeated Rehari Club by 20- 13 goals. The main scorer from STC Jammu were Sahil Dalal, who scored 8 goals.
The 2nd match in Senior Boys section was played between Pissu Club and Sandeep Pal Club in which Sandeep Pal Club defeated Pissu Club by 21-10 goals. The main scorer from Sandeep Pal Club was Sahil Padha who scored 10 goals.
The 3rd match in Junior boys section was played between Sampark Handball Club and Dogra Club in which Sampark Handball Club defeated Dogra Club by 10- 8 goals The main scorer Sampark Handball Club was Ashish, who scored 3 goals.
