District administration urged to remove encroachments along Devika

UDHAMPUR, Feb 12: Udhampur Development Council has appealed the district administration Udhampur to remove all encroachments along Devika river so that the holy river could be properly preserved and Rs  170.54 crore, sanction by the Government of India  under the National River Conservation Plan (NRCP) could be properly utilized.
The appeal was made by Anil Paba, chairman of the Udhampur Development Council while talking to media persons, here today.
Lauding the efforts of MoS in PMO and MP Udhampur-Doda Parliamentary constituency, Dr Jitendra Singh for approval of the Devika conservation project,   Paba  hoped that each penny sanctioned for the project would be utilized for the purification, prevention and protection of  the holy River Devika and its tributary Doodh Ganga.
