UDHAMPUR, Jan 13: In order to promote Dogra culture and rural games, the district administration Udhampur in collaboration with Traditional Rural Games Foundation of India, an NGO, today organized traditional Rural Games on the auspicious occasion of Lohri.
DDC Udhampur, Ravinder Kumar was the chief guest while SSP Udhampur Rayees Bhat was the guest of honour on the occasion.
As many as 16 cultural items were presented by the artists in this traditional festival viz sports , Adventure, Music, Art, Dance, Acting, Song, Comedy, Qawali and Dogri Dance were performed by the artists out of which near about 100 participants participated in the celebration of Lohri festival.
While speaking on the occasion, DDC said that the main motive of organizing this event is to promote Dogra culture.
On the occasion, district administration made elaborate arrangements like First Aid, barricading, sanitation, Transport, uninterrupted power supply, etc
Later, the chief guest distributed prizes among the participants who participated in the event.
Among others, District Officers of District Administration, President Beopar Mandal, Udhampur Surinder Singh Khalsa, members of NGO Foundation, participants besides prominent citizens were present on the occasion.
